Overview
Eagubar Audiobook ("the App") is built around a simple principle: your documents stay on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how.
Data we do not collect
The App does not require an account, does not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not upload the PDF files you import, the text extracted from them, or the audio generated from them to any server. All PDF parsing, text-to-speech narration, and optional on-device translation happen locally on your device using Apple's frameworks and the open-source Piper text-to-speech engine.
Voice models
The first time you select a voice, the App downloads the corresponding open-source neural voice model from Hugging Face's public model hosting. This download transfers only the voice model file itself; no personal data, documents, or identifiers are sent as part of this request beyond what's required for a standard file download (such as your IP address, which is handled by Hugging Face's infrastructure, not by us).
Data stored on your device
The App stores your document library, reading and listening progress, and voice and speed preferences locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data is not accessible to us and is never transmitted anywhere. If you use iCloud backup, this data may be included in your personal iCloud backup, subject to Apple's iCloud terms.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Third-party services
Aside from the one-time voice model download described above (Hugging Face) and Apple's App Store / StoreKit for handling your purchase, the App does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
